| Dark Horizons - Oliver Taylor Astrophotographer, Oliver Taylor, is an international award winning photographer, with published images in numerous publications. His talk is based on a self-drive journey in the Bolivian, Chilean and Peruvian Altiplano, areas, considered a Mecca for landscape astrophotography, and renowned for having the best atmospheric conditions on the planet for astrophotography. An adventure over some of the most remote landscapes in the world riddled with logistical problems, high altitude, sub-zero temperatures, low humidity and a complete lack of civilization and infrastructure. 9th November | Looking Local - Chris Shepherd A return visit for Chris who reflects on how as photographers we often suffer from 'Locational Myopia', constantly wishing we were in some exotic location with the best possible equipment. In this talk, he details his fight, in his own humorous way, with his own Locational Myopia and ways to overcome it, as well as a personal journey to become a landscape photographer. Chris also tells us he has the best joke, so watch out Phil! |

As a born story-teller he speaks lovingly of a land that fast became his home, a land where camera technique has to adapt to very different, sometimes arduous and often extreme conditions. This is an Africa that visitors can only guess at. |
